Adrien Brody Cast as Pat Riley in HBO’s LA Lakers Series

HBO has forged Adrien Brody as Pat Riley for its collection on the Eighties-era Los Angles Lakers. Riley led the Lakers to 4 NBA titles as the top coach throughout that period.
Based on the Jeff Pearlman ebook “Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s,” the untitled present will dramatize the skilled and private lives of the Eighties group, described in the collection logline as “one of sports’ most revered and dominant dynasties-a team that defined its era, both on and off the court.”
Adam McKay is director and government producer on the collection, which is written by Max Borenstein. Jim Hecht, Jason Shuman, and Kevin Messick of McKay’s manufacturing firm additionally government produce alongside Scott Stephens and co-EP Rodney Barnes.

Jason Clarke stars as Jerry West, the “cantankerous tortured genius of basketball” and one-time Lakers normal supervisor. John C. Reilly will play former Lakers proprietor Jerry Buss, with Quincy Isaiah and Solomon Hughes as former Lakers legends Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, respectively.
Additional forged contains Hadley Robinson as Jeanie Buss, the daughter of Jerry and the present Lakers proprietor, Spencer Garrett as legendary Lakers broadcaster Chick Hearn, Delante Desouza as Michael Cooper, and Kirk Bovill as former Los Angeles Clippers proprietor Donald Sterling.
Riley was the Lakers coach from 1981 to 1990. He then led the New York Knicks from 1990 till his notorious exit in 1995, when he joined the Miami Heat as their head coach and group president. He has been with the Heat ever since and led them to a title in 2006, his fifth as a head coach.
