Coelacanths may live nearly a century, five times longer than researchers expected

Once considered extinct, lobe-finned coelacanths are monumental fish that live deep within the ocean. Now, researchers reporting within the journal Current Biology on June 17 have proof that, along with their spectacular dimension, coelacanths can also live for an impressively very long time—maybe nearly a century.
