It’s been seven months since tens of 1000’s of farmers marched to the Indian capital, Delhi, in protest towards agricultural reforms.
Three new legal guidelines, which sought to extend the position of the personal market in Indian farming, brought on large protests late final 12 months. The authorities says the legal guidelines will assist farmers in the long term, however farmers say they are going to weaken their place and make them dependent on company firms.
Many of them have refused to return to their farms till the legal guidelines are repealed – and so they have stayed by means of a harsh winter, a lethal second Covid wave and a scorching summer season.
