Cyrus said she’s decided not to play the blame game.

“One of the things I’ve used is, ‘Don’t get furious, get curious,'” she said. “So don’t be mad at yourself, but ask yourself, ‘What happened?'”

The star said she has issues with moderation and said she believes everyone should do what’s best for them.

That may not be sobriety for everyone, Cyrus said, though she said for her alcohol can lead to impulsive behavior.

“I don’t have a problem with drinking,” she said. “I have a problem with the decisions I make once I go pass that level of … Even into, I’ve just been wanting to wake up 100%, 100% of the time.”

Cyrus has been through a lot and calls the last three years of her life a “cocktail of chaos.”

During that time she split with husband, actor Liam Hemsworth, after less than a year of marriage, but an off-and-on relationship for a decade.

Prior to the breakup the couple lost their home during wildfires in Malibu.

Cyrus turned 28 on Monday and told Lowe having been 27 really made her pursue sobriety “because we’ve lost so many icons at 27.”

“Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse are a few of the celebrities who all died at that age,” she said. “It’s a very pivotal time. You go into that next chapter or this is it for you.”

Cyrus’ latest album, “Plastic Hearts,” drops Friday.
