Ten women in Yemen’s Abs district have constructed and now run a photo voltaic microgrid.

The challenge was arrange in 2019 with the assistance of the UN Development Programme.

The women now run the station as their very own enterprise, offering reasonably priced, renewable energy to a neighborhood residing close to a battle zone.

As a results of the challenge’s success, there are plans to construct 100 microgrids across the nation, using extra native women.

Station supervisor Iman Ghaleb Hadi Al-Hamali explains how the work has given the group confidence and hope.
