Two women have been arrested over the death of an eight-month-old baby following a “medical episode” at a nursery.
Police have been referred to as to an incident at a nursery in Stockport, Greater Manchester, on Monday.
The lady was taken to hospital the place she later died.
The two women, aged 35 and 34, have been held on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) mentioned.
The drive described the death as “heartbreaking”.
Det Supt Phil Duffy mentioned: “Our thoughts are very much with the baby girl’s family who are understandably shocked and devastated.
“We’re doing all the things we are able to to get them the solutions they deserve.
“Officers are continuing to work to establish the full facts and ascertain the circumstances.”
A spokesman for Ofsted mentioned the nursery had been quickly closed and declined to remark additional.
